My Digital Studio 2 is HERE!!!

Yay!!!  It's finally HERE!!  I am so excited!  And you can try it for FREE--even if you have downloaded a trial for MDS 1.  Try it HERE.
After using MDS 1 for just over a year, I can't wait to try all the cool new things they have put in this new software.  I was priveleged to be a part of a questionnaire that asked what would be good to add to the new software.  Many of my personal preferences must have been across the board with others, because Stampin' Up has added almost all of the things I said I would like!  I can't wait to get busy playing!  Stay tuned as I hope to get some videos up soon!!!

Smiles with a Chance of More Smiles

Happy Wednesday!  Just thought I'd share another page I did for a class with Heather Summers.  I love classes!  They are a really great way to force yourself to do things....like these pics from two years ago! Nothing like doing a scrapbooking class to get your bum in gear--now, after doing 12 pages in two weeks, I admit, I've now done ZERO in the last 6!  Time to get a move on!!  Thanks for popping by!

These were fun little tea holders that I made for a team meeting.  I have never done shading straight onto the patterned paper before, but I really like how they turned out!

27 Dresses(eventually!)

These cards were extremely fun, and beautiful!  Please don't ask me for the template....I looked everywhere, and every link I found had been removed--maybe from a copyright issue.  Anyway, I just free hand drew the bodice, and then just played with the skirt part on computer paper(bottom of the skirt part is rounded).  Once I got it to be doable, I just marked my fold lines on the template. I then traced onto the back of some patterned paper, and cut.  I then used my Simply Scoring tool to just score on top of the template stacked on top of the patterned paper.  I had to cut another template after making a few of these!  LOVE them!

Elegant Place Cards

These were place cards that I made for a girlfriend's birthday brunch.  I made them with MDS(My Digital Studio)--testing the placement of the name with the images to make sure the frame embossing die would be right.  I started with the largest name, then once I test printed, I could just copy and paste the whole thing across the page(4/page).  I then cut, folded, embossed, then sponge inked the edges.  And for the final touch, the teeniest pearls from our Basic Pearl accents.

I did the same thing for these food labels(8/page since I was mounting them).  I then added butterflies from the Beautiful Wings embosslit die.

Mother

This was a really stunning card to make...You could make this for so many occasions, really.  It uses the Labels Collection Framelits Dies, and embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper folder.  It was then lightly brayered with Soft Suede ink(as well as all of the edges--sponged), then adhered with Dimensionals, and a delicate touch of pearls to complete it.  I will definitely be making more of these!

Well, this was a fun and challenging sketch from Heather Summers--you can view her sketch and page HERE Along with the bloghop that happens every FRIDAY!! Check it out, and you can see other versions that the other ladies have done! As I started this page, I realized that none of my colors(based on the cake) actually worked with the pictures of my daughter and her red dress! (December) Oh, well, I had to just try to find a way to work them in--the background is actually the color of the wall that is behind her, but mostly got cut out with cropping. Oh well, it was too much work to just scrap and start over! It was fun anyway! Thanks for looking!

You are NEVER too young to STAMP!!
(Ok, well, obviously a baby might have trouble! LOL)

Have fun with your kids, your grandkids, your nieces and nephews!  Share the joy of stamping!

TIP:  It helps to give them only one ink pad at a time to avoid cross-contamination.  Also, if you teach them to clean the stamps right from the start, they will be naturals at it!

Went on my regular MDS blog hop today, and just HAD to CASE this!  The inspiration came from
Terri Mongeon HERE.  Now, her dog's name is Bella, and I wasn't actually going to copy it for a picture of my daughter, Isabella, but hey, her birthday was just last week, and I just couldn't help myself!!  Thanks for looking!  Enjoy!

Hole in the beach!

What a great day!  My husband thought the pic on the left looked a little scary, but I think he looks so sweet!   It was cool, because I literally just stuck my camera down in the hole he was digging, and pointed up!  That is the exact shot that I got without looking!  What luck!

This was done on Stampin' Up!'s "My Digital Studio," and was so easy!  The background is made by making some word stamps slightly darker than the paper colour to give a "watermark" effect.
